1841 census, Chislett (ref HO 107-465, page 44 on the CD) appears to give no name of residence, and you have to look back some 20 entries before seeing something which we read (I think from the 1861 census) as "Hickforstall" (farm). There is a hint of that name also at the third or fourth name of children (see below) which suggests that whatever it is, it is a clue to where they lived, but not yet proven because of illegibility. There may be some way of researching maps to find the farm in Chislett.

The entries run as follows

Peter Ewell aged 80, farmer, Y(es) for Born in this County (Kent) column
Thomas do aged 35, labourer, Y
Mary Ann Newey, aged 15, servant, Y

this gap is mine, since they have been listed as two familes

William Ewell aged 40, labourer, Y
Elizabeth do aged 42, Y
Jane Elizabeth do, aged 11 Y
Eliza do aged 6, Y
George do aged 3, Y
Edwin do aged 2, Y
Mary Ann do aged 4 months, Y

Interestingly, the next entry is for an Edward Langford and two children,
although too old to have ultimately been the husband of Mary Ann
Ewell/Langford.

end of this census entry.
